Former seminary student and music producer Chris Jordan joins Dr Kevin to discuss the question: Are the major religions failing their people? With abortion, gay marriage, and other “hot” issues in the spot light, more people than ever are beginning to feel that church groups are focusing too much time, energy, and money on politics and ignoring the needs of their flock. The trend towards using the church to fight political battles instead of preaching the love of God, combined with widely publicized sex scandals involving religious leaders who were once viewed as being above reproach, have caused some church members to question the faith they were raised in and explore new options. Membership in several large Christian denominations is down, while the number of people that classify themselves as religiously unaffiliated is on the rise.
