T. Thorn Coyle feels that there is no separation between spirit and matter, and therefore part of our spiritual practice is figuring out how best to live fully embodied and engaged with this earth. Issues of social justice and environmental protection are issues of spiritual presence. When we are present to the moment, to ourselves, and to the Divine that flows through both of these, we are present to the connection that cleaves us to each other, to the trees, to the water, and to the sky.
